Getting Your Child Involved

One of the best avenues for college scholarship dollars is through quality community service. It is best if the community service can be done over 3 or 4 years time, showing some growth each year. For that reason alone, community service can be a great benefit to a student; however, community service is a wonderful experience for a young person no matter the reason it is done. It was community service that helped our teens decide what they wanted to do with their lives, so even if it had not meant some scholarships, it was worth the effort!

Community service can be anything you choose to do that will be done in service to others. There are lots of places that can use volunteers, so be sure to check out the possibilities. If the first thing you try doesn’t fit you well, try another area. Here are some places to check, and you will probably think of some others in your area. Just keep your eyes open to possibilities.
